Savage Saws Introduces the Next Generation of Large Diameter Rotators
In the third quarter of 2006 Savage Saws shipped the first next-generation rotator capable of cutting up to 30” (750mm) dia material. This 200Hp behemoth with self-centering rotating chucks can clamp and self center any size electrode in less than 10 minutes without the operator ever touching the chuck.
Cutting is just as safe and easy, with the operator just positioning the electrode inside the saw and starting the cycle. Blade changes can be done safely behind the cutting area without having to move the material. The drop ends or metallurgical samples can be retrieved outside the exit of the saw after the scissors table automatically moves the cut piece from the sawing area to the unloading station.
A steady rest to support the cantilevered load of an electrode clamped in just one chuck, but still able to compensate for the eccentricity of the material, an improved coolant filtration system, and Hp feed control are just a few of the numerous advances in this machine.
